Project description

The Pears Building, Institute for Immunology and Transplantation is a world-class research centre in Hampstead that brings together scientists, clinicians, patients, and the public in a stunning open-plan environment.

The building, able to accommodate 200 researchers, provides a centre of excellence for immunology research to improve human health by looking for cures and new treatments for global health problems including type 1 diabetes, cancer and organ rejection after transplantation.

The building houses the Royal Free Charity office, 3 floors of cutting-edge Containment Level 2 & 3 laboratory space as well as a Clinical Trials Facility.

This has established the Institute of Immunity and Transplantation (IIT) as one of the largest centres for immune system research in Europe.

Buro Four were awarded the International Construction Project Management Alliance Award for our collaborative leadership of this complex project.
