I really enjoy the variety of challenges presented by projects, whether they’re small or large and complex. As a project manager, I strive to be actively involved in conversations shaping the industry and future of the built environment and, through my positions in industry groups, I’ve become particularly passionate about inspiring project and design teams to think more sustainably.

Outside of work, I enjoy anything involving food, exploring new places and spending time outdoors in the countryside or by the sea.

With over thirty years of experience in construction and as an accredited NEC Project Manager, I’ve gained a special understanding of contract management, design management and structural design. My experience spans wineries to workplaces to very large and complex university and cultural campus projects.

I enjoy engaging with the next generation of project managers as a visiting lecturer at University of Manchester and have a passion for photography, particularly street photography.

I love all aspects of projects but particularly like the construction phase. I approach this aspect of my work with a logical outlook, looking ahead to identify and mitigate risks and working together to deliver something great.

Outside of work, I enjoy fishing, playing cricket, and a bit of rugby (only touch rugby these days… I’m not as young as I used to be!).
