The transformative redevelopment of The Royal Academy of Arts, Britain’s foremost artist-led institution, which was completed in time for its 250th anniversary.
The refurbishment and reconfiguration of the listed Burlington House and Burlington Gardens improved the visitor experience through the unification of the two buildings via a new build link bridge. Works included creation of the new Clore Learning Centre, a new lecture theatre, exhibition space as well as conservation of the historic façade.
The project was supported by a grant of £12.7m from the NLHF. In addition, the project also received generous support from a number of private individuals as well as Trusts and Foundations.
Following the success of this project, Buro Four are currently delivering the Royal Academy Schools Project.
