The Project
Located opposite Marble Arch, the building is situated within The Portman Estate. Originally built in the 1920s and only receiving minor improvements twice since, the building requires major renewals. The client’s aspiration is to regenerate the site to provide efficient and desirable space for office and retail tenants in the very prominent location opposite the Marble Arch.
The project involves a redevelopment behind a retained façade to provide new offices on the top 7 floors. The building is also designed to revitalise the western end of London’s main shopping street with a major retail unit over three floors. One of the project’s challenges is it’s a constrained site within a dense urban location at Marble Arch.
